Good Shepherd Dedication

On January 10, Bishop Joseph Latino of Jackson blessed and dedicated Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Robinsonville, Miss. The new church is for a new parish –– the combination of the faith communities of St. Anthony's in Tunica and Sacred Heart in Walls. Situated near the Tunica casinos, the parish also serves many of the Catholic tourists who vacation in the area. The parish is one of several ministered to by a pastoral team that includes Fr. Tim Gray, Fr. Bob Tucker (pastoral team moderator) and Fr. Ed Zemlik.

  • The new church on Casino Center -- the name of the road gives an indication of how close the new parish is to the Tunica casinos.

  • Fr. Frank Burshnick is assisted by Fr. David Szatkowski. Fr. Frank is now retired and lives in Florida but he had previously served in Mississippi and is well-known among parishioners at Good Shepherd. Fr. David is a canon law doctoral student in Rome who was assisting in Mississippi during a break from studies.
